In his victory speech, New York City Mayor-elect Zuhran Mamdani stated that he would “confront” President Trump. Trump responded that the speech was “full of anger” and that Mamdani should “be nicer to him.”
According to reports, Mamdani addressed Trump directly, stating that New York will remain a “city of immigrants” and that he will show America how to “defeat” Trump.
“So Donald Trump,” Mamdani said, “I know you’re watching, and I have four words for you: Turn up the volume.”
The report also noted that during Mamdani’s speech, Trump posted on social media, “It all starts here.”
