The British “Times” revealed on April 17 that as an important part of the UK’s “return to Asia” strategy, the British Navy will “permanently” deploy a large warship in the Indo-Pacific region. The arrogant statement of a British Ministry of Defense that this move would prevent the “PLA from invading Taiwan” was ridiculed by all walks of life. The remarks were severely countered by Russia, calling on Asia-Pacific countries to come to the English Channel for military training.
According to TASS on April 23, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova responded to EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell’s remarks that European countries should cruise the Taiwan Strait, and she suggested that some Asia-Pacific countries cruise the English Channel.
