On February 3, the Biden administration of the United States announced a new security assistance package worth $2.175 billion to Ukraine, which includes providing $425 million worth of military materials from the Pentagon’s inventory through the “presidential appropriation authority” and allocating $1.75 billion for weapons procurement through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) for use by the Ukrainian side. In total, the United States has now pledged $30 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the Biden administration took office. US military assistance will only be counterproductive to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and Ukraine is afraid that it has long been full of holes.
