The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced sanctions against Colombian President Gustavo Petro and Interior Minister Armando Benedetti for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking activities.
The sanctions place the two individuals, along with two others, on the “Specially Designated Nationals List,” marking a further escalation of tensions between the U.S. government and Colombia.
