The Israeli Defense Forces announced on the 16th that they had launched a new round of large-scale offensive in the Gaza Strip. On the same day, leaders of many countries, including Ireland, Norway, and Spain, issued a joint statement calling on Israel to stop further military operations and fully lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
