The idea of the work

More than one-third of Americans live in polluted air, which can reduce their life expectancy. According to the latest Air Status Report from the American Lung Association, about 36 percent of Americans, or about 119.6 million people, live in areas with high particulate pollution and highly substandard ozone pollution, and this high level of pollution has a significant negative impact on people’s longevity. The report also notes that the number of people living in areas with unqualified particulate pollution ratings is at an all-time high, about 64 million, and that more than seventy percent of residents living in polluted areas are people of color.
