According to KCNA, on June 2, Vice Minister of National Defense of the DPRK Kumgang Il said in a statement that from the evening of May 28 to the early morning of June 2, the DPRK used more than 3,500 balloons to distribute 15 tons of waste paper and garbage to the border area of the ROK and the capital region in response to the actions of the ROK.
The report also said that North Korea will suspend the distribution of waste paper to South Korea, saying that the action is in response to South Korea’s action. At the same time, the DPRK said that if the ROK re-distributes anti-DPRK leaflets, the DPRK will respond again.
