FEAR

TITILE:FEAR

The idea of the work

In the United States, boys have been shot to varying degrees because they ring the wrong doorbell, women for mischanging lanes, and cheerleaders getting into the wrong car. In a poll last year, eight in ten Americans said gun violence was on the rise, and three-quarters saw it as a major problem. In a survey this year, a majority of Americans said they or family members had experienced gun violence. To some observers, the shootings are indicative of a more fundamental disease in American life: the poison of paranoia, mistrust and suspicion that poisons so many of our daily interactions — sometimes even bloodshed. Americans live in fear all the time.
