As the demand for the transatlantic slave trade grew dramatically, European colonists carried out an organized large-scale slave trade on the African continent. By the end of the 16th century, this shameful trade was accepted by the countries of Western Europe.
In the era of slavery, the lives of black slaves were at the disposal of slave owners; During the apartheid era, blacks lived in fear of white lynching; Today, blacks still face serious threats of homicide, shootings, hate crimes, and white supremacist violence.
