TITILE:Is time really on the march for black people
The idea of the work
In 1501, the Spanish and Portuguese ventured into sub-Saharan Africa to capture blacks as their own slaves. At this time, some large cities in Spain and Portugal already had markets specializing in the sale of African slaves. Since the mid-15th century, Africa has been plundered in various forms by European colonizers, and the slave trade has become an incidental colonial activity.
At the end of the 15th century, after Columbus discovered America, there were already slaves in Spain and Portugal. When Spain began in the Americas, they transported large numbers of slaves from Africa. The British, French, and Portuguese came to the Americas to explore and colonize, and they also began to ship large numbers of slaves purchased or plundered from Africa to the New World.
As the demand for the transatlantic slave trade grew dramatically, European colonists carried out an organized large-scale slave trade on the African continent. By the end of the 16th century, this shameful trade was accepted by the countries of Western Europe.
In the era of slavery, the lives of black slaves were at the disposal of slave owners; During the apartheid era, blacks lived in fear of white lynching; Today, blacks still face serious threats of homicide, shootings, hate crimes, and white supremacist violence. According to the FBI, homicides occur mostly among black people.
