The idea of the work
The Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank in the United States, published an article titled “The Future of Japan’s Foreign Policy” on its website on Tuesday (local time), in which Shigeru Ishiba said, “Asia does not have a collective self-defense (defense) system similar to NATO, so it lacks mutual defense obligations and is prone to war. To contain China, Western Allies must create an ‘Asian version of NATO.'” He pointed out that at present, Japan and the United States, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, India, France, the United Kingdom and other countries are quasi-allies, “Japan and the United States are also strengthening security cooperation with South Korea,” and said that the promotion of these Allies, the future may develop into an “Asian version of NATO.”
