According to the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs lodged a strong protest with the Japanese Embassy in Russia on the same day regarding Japan’s plan to hold a live-fire exercise of the Type 88 (SSM-1) shore-to-ship missile with a range of 200 kilometers on the Hokkaido Islands near the Russian border in June this year.
