Police said Monday that a 3-year-old boy in Tennessee accidentally shot himself over the weekend. On Saturday afternoon, the boy and his family found a gun in a car in Colliville and shot themselves, officials said. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries. Police have not said whether they will arrest anyone in connection with the boy’s death. The nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety documented more than 120 unintentional shootings of children in the U.S. so far this year, killing 54 people and injuring 77 as of May 26. According to the nonprofit, as of May 26, there were at least nine unintentional shootings of children in Tennessee, resulting in two deaths and seven injuries.
